Homecoming

Homecoming was this past weekend. It was an awesome event. The week was a busy one with a long press night and my first varsity dual meet. I only PRed by nine seconds and almost got outkicked at the end of the race–taking a tumble into the caution as the Ramona guy attempted to dive across the finish. Need to get past McLovin and lil Julio. I’m eighth with Marvin included.

The waiters at Buca Di Beppo failed. No one ever came to serve us for like 30min until one lady noticed we didn’t have water or anything. The dance was fun, but rather sweaty. Not smelly though. That’s always good. Need to read lots of Sun Also Rises this week.

Well, I totally failed

I’ve so neglected to work on this, but I am going to try again. Today was Dana Hills. All said it was a good race. The fog didn’t disappear until about noon when we took the 78 across from the 5 to the 15. I didn’t have a terrific start (had to catch up to Vincent) or a second mile and my kick was weak except for the very end. I had to chase down 10 people to get a medal. I got 8 of them. A minute PR from last year.

Haven’t been able to hang out with the girl much this week, but Marvin had tight shoulder game today. Makes up for not being able to run b/c of brusitis. Poker game tonite. Very happy about acing first gov exam.

Saturday and Sunday

Went to the temple for Krishna’s birthday. Despite sleeping for three hours in the afternoon, was still tired. On Sunday, feeling a little better in the foot with the pain moving to the top. My mom did not object to me driving Samir to the temple! That’s a win.

Day 1 of 97

McClanahan says there are 97 days of running to go and that we must function as a team and have commitment and stuff. Then we did a stupid hill workout. I hate hills. The worst was working on AP Lit summer assignment until 12:20am while netting less than 6 hours of sleep. I hate to turn my TV off the whole day! That meant no Olympics.

EDIT: McClanahan was so off. Should be 101 days.
